Quick tips to remember when writing your cover letter.

1.

The tone of the letter should be confident, professional and polite

2.

Mention any recent achievements of the company to show you have done your homework.

3.

Use action verbs (ie., designed, implemented, increase...) rather than passive verbs (ie., was, did...).  Click on the link below to see some examples.

Don't use overly technical jargon that the reader may not understand.

5.

For both the resume and cover letter, assume the reader knows nothing about you!

6.

Keep it short and to the point - don't ramble.

7.

Avoid overuse of the word "I".

8.

Don't repeat information in the resume, but refer to the resume in your letter.

9.

Be enthusiastic!!
